Can a society's culture influence the development of resilience in people in difficult times?

To begin, let's review the meaning of the word "Culture", and for this I have consulted the Online Dictionary of the Spanish Language of the RAE "Royal Spanish Academy" and it indicates several meanings, but in this case I will share this one:
1Culture: Set of ways of life and customs, knowledge and degree of artistic, scientific, industrial development, in an era, social group, etc.We are not going to go deeper into the origin of this word, because it is very broad, and the only thing we want here is to be clear about the meaning of this word, to have a better understanding of what I will share. I have been working for the last 10 years of my career with Immigrants and refugees in various camps and in different countries; this has given me the opportunity to learn and meet people from different countries, traditions, cultures, etc. And one of the things that I have been able to observe in all this time is how each of these people faces the challenges of life in different ways (I will make it clear that these are extremely difficult and that they have to do with survival, basic needs of a human being, those of eating, dressing, having a place to sleep, being in a safe place, etc.). I have seen how the people from Cuba who arrived at the camp were always smiling, using a lot of sense of humor, dancing and singing as a means of expression, relief and transformation of a difficult situation; thus giving meaning to chaos and bringing with it a resignification to the present. This spontaneity is seen a lot in Latin American culture, in general, where there is a lot of poverty, and people often work not to live, but to survive. This makes them much more creative and proactive, always looking for different jobs to earn extra money so they can cover basic needs. Dancing is very present at family or friend gatherings, it is something very common, it is often said "let's dance, let's kill our sorrows." We thus see how the culture of a society can influence people when it comes to facing very difficult situations in their lives. The topic needs to go into much more depth, but I will end here and continue in a future post.
